State of Emergency lifted in New Hanover Co. months after hurricane

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County is no longer in a State of Emergency following Hurricane Florence.
State of Emergency was lifted during Tuesday morning’s county commission meeting.

The State of Emergency went into effect on September 10. Since then, 1.3 million cubic yards of debris have been collected and nearly 21,000 residents have registered for assistance.
The State of Emergency remained in effect through debris removal and beginning stages of recovery process.
